Codicil excluding Christopher Cotton re Executorship.
I Martha Bowlby of Mansfield Woodhouse in the County of Nottingham Widow being mindful to make some alterations in my last Will and Testament hereunto annexed with respect to my Executors therein named do make this codicil this tenth day of May one thousand seven hundred and fifty six which I will shall be taken as part of my Last Will and Testament whereas I had constituted and appointed John Norbourn of Barlborough in the County of Derby Gentleman and
Christopher Cotton of Mansfield in the County of
Nottingham Grocer Executor in my said Last Will and Testament And whereas since the due Execution thereof the said Christopher Cotton hath informed me that he cannot act as my Executor under my said Will I do hereby
therefore revoke all the power and authority which I had given the said Christopher Cotton as my Executor under the said Will and in his place and stead do constitute and appoint John Cotton of Mansfield Woodhouse aforesaid Gentleman and Riichard Stevenson of the same place Cooper their Executors Administrators and Assigns in conjunction with my other Executor John Norbourn All and singular my Estate Goods Chattels and personaltys as the same are mentioned and specified in my said Last Will and
Testament upon such and the same Trusts Uses Ends and purposes as are given devises and bequeathed in my said Will according to his express and true Meaning thereof
In Witness whereof I have hereunto putt my hand and seal the tenth day of May in the said year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and fifty six
Signed sealed published and declared by the said Martha Bowlby in the presence of the Witnesses hereunder written who subscribed their names at the request and in the presence of the Testatrix
