1768 Document Regarding
Will and Codicil of Martha Bowlby
Know all men by those present that John Cotton of Mansfield
Woodhouse in the county of Nottingham,gentleman and John Norborn
of Barlborough in the county of Derby,gentleman Executors named in
the Last Will and Testament or the Codicil thereof added of Martha
Bowlby heretofore of Mansfield Woodhouse aforesaid but late of
Bawtry in the county and Diocese of York,Widow Deceased for
divers good causes and considerations the hereunto moving here
renounced and by these presents do renounce the Execution of the said
Last
Will and Testament and the Codicil thereto added together with all
our
Rights and title thereto and to the Intent that this our renunciation
may
have it's due effect in Law.We do hereby authorize and impower Thomas
Brook of the city of York,gentleman one of the Proctors of the
Ecclesiastical Court of York to appear before the Right
Worshipful Francis Topham Doctor of Laws Commissary of the Exchequer
Court of the most Reverened Father in God Robert The Bishop Providence
Lord Archbishop of York Being England and Metropolitan lawfully
Authorized the lawful surrogate and to pray and procure this,our
Renunciation to be accepted and admitted hereby Promising to Ratify
and Confirm that our said Father shall lawfully do herein.In Witness
Whereof we have hereunto set our hands and seals this fourteenth
Day of October in the Year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and
sixty eight.
